Hopeless hope

Tradegy becomes tearless when it's inevitable.
Inescapable consequence of being.
Pity is washed away by certainty.
All possiblities melting into definite, unobjectionable fate.

Like the last tile on a crumbling wall holding on to days gone by
or the dying leaf on a tree in fall and the final drop in a well run dry.
There is something sickly sweet about hopeless hope...
