Open Wound

Another explosion in Beirut tonight.
No fatalities.

That is a lie.
Left bloodied on the sidewalk is our sense of security, hope and confidence.

How can a wound heal if it is repeatedly and brutally torn open?

I was watching 7arb Libnan...the same story is unfolding right now.

Healing is very elusive. Its been 3 months personally and still nothing...But hurt does subside, as mo pointed out.

I'm just happy no one was hurt.

Our countries self esteem took quite a beating though.

Thanks dear... same goes to you of course

They don't of course, that's what I meant :(

I salute your spirit, and share it
The sad fact is that we are human after all, and tonight Monot was dark and bare

The self esteem, the confidence... those are the targets. And of course all those tourist dollars.

7arb Libnan was different in one aspect though, this time none of us are blaming each other.

as long as we don't start accusing each other, as long as we keep leading LIVES - that includes partying -, and as long as we keep not doing unto "them" (whoever that turns out to be) what "they" have done unto us -- we WILL heal.

this is NOT "7arb libneen redux". and it is up to us to make sure that it won't become one.

btw - that dvd/video compilation is great IF you have read a bunch of decent books on the subject beforehand. the doc itself is, of course, a great example of how much even al-jazeera has to learn from PROFESSIONAL makers of docu-films -- maps??? identification of the various video clips??? interviews that are not a la "i will ask you a question, ya za'im, and then you will talk on whatever subject you feel like for as long as you like"???

sorry, i know this was uncalled for. but hey - YOU started it by mentioning "7arb libneen"...

Actually... it was natalie who mentioned it!
But your opinion is sound and welcome ashraf, so your apology is uncalled for ;)
