Lebanese Roulette

The roulette wheel is spinning.
Eyes are fixed on the ball in motion.
It rolls, then skips and bounces.

No bets can be changed.
No chips can be moved.
The stakes are high.

There will be a winner.
There will be a loser.

The winner will parade in the streets, cars honking and flags waving.
The loser will feel he has lost all and has no place on the table anymore.

A casino drama on the grandest scale.

In my head, I can hear the tune:
"You got to know when to hold 'em,
know when to fold 'em,
know when to walk away,
and know when to run..."
