In spite of Life
Life sometimes calls you to voice your opinion. To share, discuss and say your piece.
There are other times though when life becomes so involving that it renders you speechless.
Like pictures so dramatic they don't carry a caption.
Or Live TV feeds where the commentator stays silent.
My life for the past two weeks has been a "No Comment" drama.
But I am back, because time is a great amnesiac.
coincidentally, today marks the launch of a great upheaval in the heart of Beirut. As of this evening, a virtual city-wide festival commences, with photo exhibits, musical concerts, poetry readings, arts and crafts exhibitions... the list is long. The aim of all this is to wrench off the hand of death and fear that has grasped the city and the people for the past 2 months.
I will be there, among the throngs of thousands... 'celebrating' Life.
Perhaps we are not celebrating Life itself.
Perhaps we are celebrating that we will keep on living, in spite of Life.

Thanks, I certainly hope so too.
In a way, the greater sadess all around us somehow made my personal problem more bearable. I'm not sure if that is selfish or understandable...
